The pre-signed contract that is sent out in response to all inquiries contains the following standard terms:
What's the deal?
- That’s how I advertise my services. No false hopes.
Once accepted as a client you the Author, having paid
a preliminary reading fee of £50.00 ( fifty pounds), will
supply a clearly legible double- or 1.5-spaced typewritten
or printed manuscript, preferably attached to an email,
in which case you guarantee that both the email and
any attachments) are free from viruses of any kind.
- If appropriate, you will enclose sufficient postage to cover
return of the manuscript.
- I will read your manuscript with care and then write a
report on it. The report will list and analyse the manuscript’s
strengths and weaknesses and make suggestions for its
improvements having regard to its intended readership.
- Once I have completed my report, I will submit my invoice
for the agreed fee to be settled by means of a cheque made
payable to John Trenhaile and crossed “A/C Payee only.”
- On receipt of your cheque I will return the manuscript with
my written report using such of the Post Office’s services as
you request provided you have sent sufficient postage to pay
for the service(s) in question. If you submitted your
work via email, the report will be emailed to you .
- While I will take every care of manuscripts no responsibility
is accepted for any loss or damage thereto while in my
possession or in transit.
